Review: Meishoku Detclear Fruits Peeling Jelly.

I’m sure all of you are familiar with exfoliating products and know the importance of exfoliation to remove dead skin cells so that newer rejuvenated skin can come to the surface and achieve glowing skin! And also other skincare products which you apply after that would also be able to work better after the dead skin cells are removed!  Here’s a review of the exfoliating product I’ve been using recently – the Meishoku Detclear Fruits Peeling Jelly!

The Meishoku Detclear Fruits Peeling Jelly contains AHA & BHA. If you’re unsure of what it is, AHA like citric acid (found in citrus fruits) is actually to help loosen the “glue” between dead skin cells on the first layer of your skin, while BHA like salicylic acid is to help remove sebum in the skin! And according to my lecturer, a combination of both is really effective to target acne problem!

As the name implies, the product dispenses a jelly like substance. The texture’s a little different from similar exfoliators I’ve used before, in the sense that it’s slightly thicker, and really like jelly!

After you spread it out, slight water droplets are formed.

And after about 1min of massaging, the white beads you see here are all your dead skin cells!!

Unlike other exfoliators which require micro-beads to exfoliate, this style of exfoliating is definitely much gentler and doesn’t cause physical stress to the face that would result in pre-mature skin ageing.

Did a side-by-side comparison on my hand to show the results. it’s not very obvious on the pic but my skin is smoother and slightly brighter!!

So I’ve actually used this product once every 2-3 days for a period of 1.5 weeks and this is how face looks like before using the product. I don’t know if it’s due to stress or what I’ve been getting alot more pimples nowadays on my right cheek as well as my chin which left hideous looking marks. Skin’s duller looking as well. ):

And after 1 week of testing the product, the marks left by my pimples were lightened and my complexion looks more radiant already!! :O
(Just a note that I never photoshop anything okay!)

And here’s close-up pics of my chin and right profile!

Overall, I really like this product! Because fruit extracts were used in the product, it actually smells really good! And as mentioned earlier, this product is in jelly form and it easily removes dead skin cells without all the abrasive methods which could actually cause over-exfoliation and thin down your skin if you were to use it incorrectly.

I wouldn’t advise you to exfoliate daily with the peeling jelly because you don’t want to end up drying out your skin, and there’s actually no need to remove dead skin cells that often cos it takes a few days for it to build up! So I suggest once or twice a week would be good enough! And another tip when using this product: Use only at night because it has been shown that exfoliating regularly increases sun sensitivity by 45%. Also, our skin repairs itself the best at night and acidic ingredients encourage and aid in the skin repair process!

You can pick up your own Meishoku Detclear Fruits Peeling Jelly in Guardian stores and also, do “like” the distributor’s FB Page HERE for any upcoming promotions or latest news!! (:

One paper down!!

Quick update!!

Was soooo happy after my first paper on Friday cos I hated that module so much. I sat down from Monday till Thursday from 10am till 1am trying to cramp all the info inside. And it’s not cos I started late or anything.. But it’s really so difficult to memorise everything cos the info was so confusing. Is it me or you can’t memorise as much as compared to when you were younger?? ):

And I kept having weird food cravings while studying.. There was this part on “Corn Laws” and I suddenly had a huge craving for corn snacks. Msged my brother to get this for me on his way back from school lolol.

So after the paper, I went for a longer than expected lunch with my schoolmates at MOF!

They were having this 10.90++ set lunch which consisted of 1 main (choice of different kind of rice), 1 sides and iced tea! Pretty worth it!

Our feast!! The portion seemed little when it arrived but amazingly it was quite filling! Maybe cos there were cheese and potatoes inside as well. We all ordered the Japanese Curry with Mozzarella Cheese Baked Rice or something like that.

And we ordered desserts to share. Marshmallow brownies with melted chocolate and ice cream that came over this heated pan!!

And just a quick update on what new products are coming up on Majolica Majorca! Attended a preview last week on their new collection!

Their new Chap 37 (Moonlight Virgin) includes: Lash Expander Edge in Brown, Shiny Ray Liner (both to be launched on 25th Apr), as well as the Aqua Fizz Shower and The Little Humming Book 2 (both launching on 16th May)! Always a big fan of Majolica for their packaging and quality!

Just over the weekends, I took a short break from studying for the next paper and went over to The Halia @ Raffles Hotel to try out their brunch menu!! A sneak at one of my fave dishes which we tasted: Pancakes with bacon butter, strawberries and puree!! Will share about the rest of the items ASAP!

Ending this post abruptly with a shot of my outfit that day lolol.

Woohoo can’t wait till the end of my exams!
(Quite a few more days to go though… Not complaining cos that means I’ve more time to study!)
All the best to those who are in the midst of this horrible period as well! WE CAN DO THIS!

I LOVE HOME-COOKED FOOD!!

The title says it all. (:

You know, when I was younger, I vaguely remember that my parents used to cook dinner every other day. And the dinner menu is very standard: Fish, Egg, Soup and Veges. And the best part is that they ALWAYS cook the same kind and style of vegetables, same kind of fish, fried egg and the same kind of soup… So the point is I grew up eating the same things for dinner like almost everyday. And I don’t think I was ever bored of eating the same things? In fact I kind of enjoy the food alot. But nowadays they only cook when they feel like it on Sundays, and guess what…. They’re still cooking the same things lolol. (With a few additions of new stuff every now and then la)

My Dad does all the cooking while my mum only prepares the soup.. And according to her it’s very easy. Just dump all the ingredients in and slow cook haha.

And our new favourite addition to our “standard dinner menu” is cereal prawns!!!! I love cereal prawns okay. I mean, if you ask me to eat normal steamed prawns alone I’ll be like “mehhh’, but I really really love eating prawns with the cereal! Or maybe I just love the cereal.

So the other day my Dad and I went on YouTube to watch videos on how to cook cereal prawns properly. Cos his previous attempts the cereal actually got lumped together or something like that. So he followed this recipe where you have to batter and fry the prawns first! (Previously he just cooked the prawns then mix with cereals)

Slightly battered prawns. This is another of my favourite style of prawns. Sometimes he’ll cook this style and other times with cereal.

Instant cereal mix. You can actually mix your own cereal as well but it’s more fuss-free with this instant mix I guess!

Cook the cereal over low heat I think. So after you’re done with the cereal you just have to pour in the fried prawns and mix abit and it’s done! Actually it seems pretty simple leh, watching my Dad do.

Oh and one thing I love about having cereal prawns at home is that my dad peels the prawns before cooking so there’s no need to dirty your hands!!

If you know me well enough, you’d know that I hate vegetables. And this is one kind of vegetables I don’t mind eating, in fact I love it!

My dad’s first attempt at making soy sauce fried fish. When I uploaded this on his FB he was like: “So dark and look like chao ta you still upload!” Where got burnt it’s just the sauce what. And it tastes really good! Anything with soy sauce is fab.

Mum:”Aiyoo so ugly with the newspapers you still upload”
-_-
Oh and see the bean sprouts? My mum was saying eating those feel like eating grass. Lol. Don’t think they’ll cook that again.

And since we’re on the topic of home-cooked food, here’s something that I enjoy eating too!! Sometimes my dad would cook this for lunch on Sundays. It might look unappetising and blend laa but the point is it’s actually handmade from flour and eggs. Texture’s really chewy and nice! My mum’s a Hakka and my grandma used to cook all these interesting Hakka dishes and my Dad learnt a few recipes from her. You can also choose to eat it dry with chilli. All my relatives love this and this is pretty easy to make!

Ending with a photo of what my mum and dad do during weekends, glued to their phones. Who says that the older generation have problem learning and catching up with technology?? My mum started Candy Crush later than me and now she’s so much further than me. Meh.

P.S. I did up another review post prior to this but decided to schedule it to another day and post this up instead cos I’m really excited for dinner tonight lolol. And I think we’re going to have the same stuffs above and that means I’m going to have cereal prawns again!!! (: (:

Genting 2013!

Okay I think I went Genting like 2 months ago already but I think I better do up this post before it gets chucked out and I never get to post this..

Planned a short getaway with the boy during our recess week in March! Actually I didn’t take much pics during this trip cos I’ve been there like 9257294 times and probably can walk around with my eyes closed (kidding) so I’m naturally lazy to take out my camera! And even though I brought my camera along, all the photos taken are actually on my iPhone…

Let me explain how this picture came about.. I really wasn’t intending to snap this because I’ve taken photos of this thing like so many times before the previous times I’m here. But the boy went: “EH don’t tell me you’re going to take photo of this thing again…” And I’m like: “No? You think I siao ah take so many times. But you know what, I’m going to take it again to irritate you.”

Not much self-portraits cos I never put makeup + lazy to dress up.

Sasa  Prices were the same as SG so not worth to get anything here haha. But they do have some other brands that SG don’t have though!

Every time I’m in Genting they’ll have some sort of special menu at their KFC/Mcdonalds!! This looked interesting but we didn’t try it.

And speaking of fast food.. We felt so cheated when we saw this. Mcdonalds in Genting is about 15RM for a set meal and elsewhere in Malaysia is only 5.95RM… And that was when I realised we should stop eating fast food there cos prices in restaurants were around 20+ which is pretty okay and close to fast food price (wth), so might as well spend on those food right! We ended up going to Old Town to eat most of the time cos it’s cheaper than in SG and the food is great!! And it’s like opened for 24hours.

Baskin Robbins is relatively cheaper here compared to SG! Had 1 for supper everyday.

Famous Amos is cheaper too!

Apart from the relatively high food prices (compared to other parts of Malaysia), here’s the reason why I love coming to Genting. Natural air-con!!

The view from above.

How our room looks like. It’s a Superior Deluxe Room with theme park facing! Toliet’s relatively bigger compared to other toliets in the smaller rooms at First World Hotel.

Pretty macaroons and cupcakes!

What I had almost every day!! Was so looking forward to eating these prior to my trip. Super shiok especially for the weather. Crap now I’m salivating at the thought of the taste.

Our room came with free breakfast on all 3 days! Not bad!!

Photo I posted up on Instagram (@felicianeo) when we were there.

On our trip back to SG, we scored a free upgrade to the VIP coach cos I think demand was low since it was off-peak! Woohoo!

So much leg room. But honestly, I prefer the non-VIP kind cos I keep sliding around in such a big seat! :/

Last photo to end the post! I look quite bad in this pic but still posting it up cos T looks really cute here! (:

Love traveling together at our own pace and btw I forsee myself coming back to Genting AGAIN cos it’s such a cheap option (in terms of coach and accommodation) for a quick getaway! (:

& I’ve just ended my first exam paper (2 more to go) and so sorry for going MIA for the past few days! I’m going to schedule more posts already so check back often!!
