Genting 2013!

Okay I think I went Genting like 2 months ago already but I think I better do up this post before it gets chucked out and I never get to post this..

Planned a short getaway with the boy during our recess week in March! Actually I didn’t take much pics during this trip cos I’ve been there like 9257294 times and probably can walk around with my eyes closed (kidding) so I’m naturally lazy to take out my camera! And even though I brought my camera along, all the photos taken are actually on my iPhone…

Let me explain how this picture came about.. I really wasn’t intending to snap this because I’ve taken photos of this thing like so many times before the previous times I’m here. But the boy went: “EH don’t tell me you’re going to take photo of this thing again…” And I’m like: “No? You think I siao ah take so many times. But you know what, I’m going to take it again to irritate you.”

Not much self-portraits cos I never put makeup + lazy to dress up.

Sasa  Prices were the same as SG so not worth to get anything here haha. But they do have some other brands that SG don’t have though!

Every time I’m in Genting they’ll have some sort of special menu at their KFC/Mcdonalds!! This looked interesting but we didn’t try it.

And speaking of fast food.. We felt so cheated when we saw this. Mcdonalds in Genting is about 15RM for a set meal and elsewhere in Malaysia is only 5.95RM… And that was when I realised we should stop eating fast food there cos prices in restaurants were around 20+ which is pretty okay and close to fast food price (wth), so might as well spend on those food right! We ended up going to Old Town to eat most of the time cos it’s cheaper than in SG and the food is great!! And it’s like opened for 24hours.

Baskin Robbins is relatively cheaper here compared to SG! Had 1 for supper everyday.

Famous Amos is cheaper too!

Apart from the relatively high food prices (compared to other parts of Malaysia), here’s the reason why I love coming to Genting. Natural air-con!!

The view from above.

How our room looks like. It’s a Superior Deluxe Room with theme park facing! Toliet’s relatively bigger compared to other toliets in the smaller rooms at First World Hotel.

Pretty macaroons and cupcakes!

What I had almost every day!! Was so looking forward to eating these prior to my trip. Super shiok especially for the weather. Crap now I’m salivating at the thought of the taste.

Our room came with free breakfast on all 3 days! Not bad!!

Photo I posted up on Instagram (@felicianeo) when we were there.

On our trip back to SG, we scored a free upgrade to the VIP coach cos I think demand was low since it was off-peak! Woohoo!

So much leg room. But honestly, I prefer the non-VIP kind cos I keep sliding around in such a big seat! :/

Last photo to end the post! I look quite bad in this pic but still posting it up cos T looks really cute here! (:

Love traveling together at our own pace and btw I forsee myself coming back to Genting AGAIN cos it’s such a cheap option (in terms of coach and accommodation) for a quick getaway! (:

& I’ve just ended my first exam paper (2 more to go) and so sorry for going MIA for the past few days! I’m going to schedule more posts already so check back often!!

The Last Lap.

So my last lesson has officially ended last Thursday and thinking about how that is my very last lecture in school possibly in my whole entire life makes me really )))))))))): !!(unless I decide to further my studies, which wouldn’t be anytime soon if that’s the case)

Sent a msg to Char the other day telling her I’m sad and here’s what she said hahaha!! (She’s working already!)

I’m feeling kind of complex now because these 4 years I wasn’t really emotionally attached towards the school but now I’ve this really heavy feeling in my heart now that I’ve registered that school life is ending. I mean, back when I was in Secondary/JC, I knew I would be sad on the last day in school.. But for university, I never expected myself to feel this way too cos university education is alot different during the times back then where we had proper classmates whom we’re familiar with and teachers who followed us through.. And I wouldn’t say that I’ve a very exciting uni life because school to me was just somewhere I go to for lectures, then return home. Throughout my stay I haven’t exactly felt any sense of belonging to the school mainly because I wasn’t really active in any clubs or school activities. But don’t get me wrong, I’m proud of my school and where I study, like how T’s roomie from Canada said that our campus is so much nicer and entertaining than back home. And that’s possibly my biggest regret in uni life – not being more active in school. But I’m glad that T’s in the same school as me and that’s one of the motivating factors why I go school even if I’ve to travel 3hrs for only a 2hrs lecture (and why I even chose NTU over NUS in the first place).

Random snippets of my last few weeks in school using my iPhone!

My clicker which has been with me throughout these 4 years.. And I’ve only used it like only 3 modules at most.

Crazy queue forming for the Exam Welfare Package. I’ve never taken the package throughout my university life as well cos I’m not a fan of queuing for stuffs.

It stretches all the way to the front!!!

Damn stressed until hair’s super messy.

SO STRESSED FOR WHAT. Smile!! ((((((((((:

Look at his notes!!! So crazy, don’t know how he manages to read them.

Okay I’m off to study. Amount of stuffs I’ve to magically store into my brain within 5 days.

My New Camera: First Impressions!

If you’ve been following me on my Twitter or Instagram (@felicianeo), you’d have known that I’ve recently changed my camera!! I used to be using the Canon S90 and it’s still in working condition actually. I’ve been wanting to get a new cam to play with recently but I didn’t have any model in mind and so happened a friend of mine was looking to sell her camera! And after doing my research I went ahead to get it since the price was right and the previous one was well-utilized for 2 years plus!

Here’s my new cameraaa! Not really new laa but it’s something new for me hahaha. Anyway, I got this camera knowing that the newer model is going to come out in a few days time but I weighed the cost and benefits (what an Economics major should always do) and decided that at the price I’m paying, I can live without the new upgrades to the model and after all technology is ever-changing and we can never catch up with it.

This is a compact semi-pro and on a Micro Four Thirds system btw. But most of the time I’m just using it as a point-and-shoot for the convenience of it and only manually adjusting the settings when the need arises. But always remember that having a semi-pro/DLSR doesn’t automatically make you any more pro. I’m not saying I’m pro laa cos I’m nowhere near that but sometimes I’m just amused by all the misconceptions people (girls especially) have about cameras/technology. Like how xxx tells me how this camera is good and she wants it just because the megapixels is higher than the other……… /facepalm.

Brought the camera out to test! Here’s an indoor shot under dim lighting. Shows quite abit of image noise though.

Indoor shot under natural light.

So warm so warm! I look like a duck here lolol.

What I like about this camera is that it’s able to produce the shallow depth of field effect that I like. But cos of the nature of the lens, sometimes it can’t focus well especially when you take objects that are too close. So I’m thinking of getting another lens for macro photography.

Tried using the manual focus function! Here’s my nail design which I did for Easter a few weeks back.

A photo I anyhow snap when I was at the bus stop. Out of 5 pics I snapped, 4 were nice enough!! I conclude that this camera takes pretty good pics if the lighting is good enough.

Another sample pic I took at the Cadbury event which I’ll blog about another time!

Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with this camera and the only things that I’d prefer my previous cam over this is the size and convenience of having a smaller camera. I used to be able to take out my camera and take pics really quickly, but now I’ve to uncap the lens cap and hold it with 2 hands to make it more stable. And the problem about having a lens cap is that I always misplace the cap and end up going all over the place to find it. And I can now no longer bring small bags out if I want to bring my camera out. ): And my model is already one of the most compact micro four thirds camera around wth.

But then again, please do not rush to get this camera just because I say that it’s good and you like the pics above. I realised that different people produces different photo quality with the same camera because eventually it boils down to whether you know how to effectively use it. Like how I told my boyf that the Olympus EP1 (quite awhile back) is good cos Yina’s photos are very nice, but he says he hates his EP1. But I think it’s just cos he doesn’t know how to set the settings and maybe cos of the lens used haha. So my point is, every camera works differently for everyone. (: And besides, I’ve a habit of digitally enhancing the lighting of my photos no matter how good it is already!

Storage Ideas: How I Store My Accessories.

I used to hang my necklaces on the knob of my cupboard and it got to a point whereby it was really annoying to get the item that I want cos they get all tangled up!! (See picture above) And not to mention all the dust when left exposed. So after my room was re-painted and reorganised, I finally got down to thinking how I was going to store my accessories in the future. Definitely no more hanging on knobs!! I actually did an impromtu video on how I store, so scroll down to view!!

You know, after I was done filming I felt a little stupid showing this…. In my mind I was thinking: “Shit. Is this what normal people do?” I mean, it’s pretty normal that accessories come in plastic wrappings and lazy people would just put them all in one pile right? And here I am feeling so proud of what I’ve done. HAHA! But it’s okayyyy I’m still happy with my method of storing! So far picking out my accessories to wear have been a breeze compared to last time! (:
